Job Description: Seeking Game Designers/Animation Specialists for our Summer Camps & Makerspace Labs 

Location: CREA Interactivity, Industry City, Brooklyn NY 

Duration: June 2024-August 2024 with the opportunity to continue work in our lab into Fall 2024

About Us: Opened in May, 2024 CREA is Industry City's first interactive tech-driven indoor playground designed for active exploration. Kids navigate through our technologically-infused zones, conquering challenges and fostering creativity through movement. Adventures are updated regularly with young minds in our Maker-Space lab. 

We recognize kids' fascination with video games, and use that same technology to build immersive adventures with themes that raise awareness about environmental issues. Our summer camp provides a fun, educational, and creative environment for children aged 5-12. We are seeking enthusiastic and knowledgeable game designers & animators to join our team and inspire the next generation of creators and innovators. Key Responsibilities and Experience Required: 

Instruction and Mentoring:

• Lead daily workshops and activities focused on game design, animation, and microcontroller projects.

• Provide individualized support and guidance to campers as they work on their projects.

• Foster a collaborative and creative atmosphere within the Makerspace Lab.

Supervision and Safety:

• Supervise campers during activities to ensure safety protocols are followed. Maintain a safe and organized workspace.

Education and Experience:

• Pursuing or completed a degree in Education, Computer Science, Engineering, Art, or a related field.

• Experience in game design and/or animation

• Proficient in software and tools related to game design (e.g., Unity, Unreal Engine), animation (e.g., Blender, Adobe Animate, Maya, and Canva)

• Previous experience working with children or in a camp setting is highly desirable.
